We tour Berlin to record undocumented stories, stories that otherwise would be lost.

We organise story installations, storytelling workshops, acoustic cinema nights and a series of events, where a selection of stories are translated into food, music and art objects.

We also run a monthly live radio show dedicated to stories and the podcast Stories in Berlin

Here is where you shall find us!

"After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the

thing we need most in the world"  - Philip Pullman

🌼 Due to the recent developments of the #coronavirus COVID-19, we decided to suspend all live story recordings of the STORY FOR FOOD project for the time being.

🎧 Instead we wish to encourage our community to stay home and listen to stories from our online story audio archive --- www.storyforfood.com/storyoftheweek

🌼 If you want to #RecordYourStory on the SFF Audio Archive, you may do that #online using your phone. Email to us your story as an audio file in wav, mp3 or aac format at storyforfood@gmail.com

🎙For more details : https://storyforfood.com/yourstories

OPEN CALL🎙  In times of the #Coronavirus Crisis, we particularly wish to encourage our community to send us Stories of Isolation and Connection, inspiring and uplifting narratives or funny anecdotes that may bring a positive note into the difficult period we are all passing through.

We will share them on our online story audio archive anonymously for everyone to listen, and when the crisis is over, we will organise a #StoryFestival with all these stories.

Thank you!

#StayHome #StayHealthy #ListenToStories

The Radio Show

In a western society which is dominated by a never ending stream of visual input, and in which ´storytelling´ is being used as a trend word in the world of marketing, we wish to investigate and foster the essence of stories – using the mass medium that has been the oral storytelling format par excellence: radio.

In collaboration with Colaboradio, as part of the FR-BB, Freies Radio Berlin Brandenburg  (https://fr-bb.org)  community radio project, we launched “STORY FOR FOOD The Radio Show” in September 2018.

This is a monthly live radio show dedicated to stories. Every month, we broadcast stories from our audio archive and invite guests to share live on the air a story on the theme of the month.

Our wish is to foster oral storytelling and help value stories in society, by promoting the practise of sharing them and the culture of listening to them

---- This month our show is dedicated to "Music" featuring a selection of stories from the SFF Audio Archive that have been translated into melodies (MUSICBACK) and songs (SONGBACK). We will also share the story of the Italian musician and longterm collaborator of the SFF project Luis De Cicco.

28 April 2020 @20h - 21h

88.4 MHz in Berlin | 90.7 MHz in Potsdam

online listening: https://fr-bb.org/

OPEN CALL🎙  We are currently planning a new STORY FOR FOOD #RadioShow on the itinerant web-radio Archipel Stations Community Radio and we are looking for creative material in audio form related with #OurCoronaDays

It can be your thoughts, stories and anecdotes from your days at home and of course songs, poems or texts you may have written related with the situation

We hope to gather mostly uplifting thoughts and inspiring narratives but you can send us anything that may have touched you these days

We accept only #audio files per email at storyforfood@gmail.com

-- any language is welcome!

Thank you!
